Angelo : Bass Guitar & Vocals Born in 1963 in Los Angeles, California, Angelo started acting in Hollywood at the age of three, doing commercials for company’s such as, Clorox, Laura Scudder, and Schwinn bicycles. After moving to Hawaii, he continued his acting career and landed bit parts on Magnum PI and appeared with legendary actor Brian Keith on the pilot episode of “The Little People”. By his teens, the acting bug had played out and he turned to music, playing the club circuit in Honolulu for a number of years, until joining forces with guitarist Brian Spalding were they formed the Power Metal band Aaronsrod.

Aaronsrod was the cream of the metal crop and hosted and opened for headliners such as, Ratt, Dio, Dokken, Rush, and the mighty Judas Priest. RoadRunner Records signed Aaronsrod in 1985, releasing their debut album “Illusions Kill” produced by Rick Asher Keefer for Sea West studios. 1986 saw Aaronsrod relocating to Hollywood California were they plied their wares on the infamous Sunset Trip, headlining clubs like, Gazzarris,The Whiskey, The Troubadour, and The Roxy, just to name a few. By 1992/93 AARONSROD disbanded due to the changing climate of the music scene, namely the introduction of Grunge.

Angelo Moved back to Hawaii were he partnered up with former Aaronsrod drummer Gerard Gonsalves to form Native Tongue and become mainstays in the club scene and opened for Warrant at the famous Gussie L’Amour’s in Honolulu. In 1996 Native Tongue signed with Moon Surfer Records and released their self-titled CD the following year. They also became the house band, and Angelo Jensen the Music Director, of the famous CheeseBurger in Paradise restaurant and bar in Waikiki for the next seven years.

In 2010, Angelo met up with Bay Area guitarist Matt Dorado to found Earth to Ashes.

Matt : Guitar & Vocals Hailing from The Stack (Hayward, CA), Matt got his first guitar at age four. Since then a guitar, music in general, has always been close by and an integral part of his life. Around age 13 Matt also started playing saxophone. This guitar/saxophone combo continued through high school and college. During his early twenties Matt played with various bands ranging from rock to jazz to traditional Latin and Portuguese music.

Around 1994 Matt moved from the Bay Area in California to the Portland, Oregon area. For about ten years music took a back seat to work and family. It was during this time that Matt married his wife Michelle and the two of them started a family and a construction business.

After a few years Matt had returned to school and earned a degree in Civil Engineering. While in back in school, the urge to play music became too much to ignore, so in addition to his engineering course load, Matt also took some music classes and played for several years in a local cover band.

Tiring of the cover band scene Matt returned to original music in Jan 2010. It was at this time Earth to Ashes was formed.

Larry : Guitar A native Oregonian, Larry has deep roots in the Portland area. Raised on classic rock and early metal, his biggest musical influence is Rush. Larry’s interest in music started at a very early age, althought it wasn’t until he was 15 when he acquired his first electric gutiar that he started to get serious about playing.

Larry continued to play the guitar throughout his life. Although he wrote several songs of his own, he mostly stayed focused on playing covers of classic rock and metal standards, and he joined a handful of bands you’ve probably never heard of, like Rabbits Foot and Torch, and mostly played parties and small venues in the smaller towns on the West side of Portland.

With the support of his family and friends, in 2010, Larry decided to give his life-long dream a shot, and started focusing on playing original music. Amazingly, it took only a matter of weeks before he responded to an advertisement on Craigslist placed by Matt Dorado, for a second guitarist. The rest, as they say, is history.

Mark Raney: Drums Born and raised right here in Portland, Oregon, Mark was gifted with his first drum set when he was only 5 years old! His early influences were Motown and the Beatles, then he heard Led Zeppelin and Rush, and the rest is history. He started playing seriously at age 14, with his brother Rick on the bass. He has played in a variety of bands, including Sacred Ties, Burn Again Mission, Josephine Ocean, Cement, and Sky Blue Mind, to name a few.

Mark took time off from playing live a couple years after getting married to his wife Jennifer in 2000. He continued to practice and did some studio work. He was lured back into playing live at the Monsters of Rock initial show at Dante’s in 2012. Hooked up with Larry at the 3rd MOR show in February of 2013, which eventually led him to Earth to Ashes.
